His wife and children love calling Lompico "home.” His wife, Joanne, is a grade school teacher for the Santa City Schools They appreciate the quietness of the redwoods and the strong sense of community spirit in Lompico. They also love hiking in the many parks around Lompico: Loch Lomond, Fall Creek, Henry Cowell, or Quail Hollow Ranch. When they are not hiking locally, they can be found exploring the Amazon or wandering around the Himalayas. Russell is also an active classical violinist, having played in the Santa Cruz County Symphony for many years and currently plays in a string quartet for weddings.
