Lompico's close proximity to both Loch Lomond Lake
and the Pacific Ocean enables the boating and kayaking
enthusiast to have the best of both worlds. Not only
can you enjoy the serene quiet of boating or kayaking
on a lake, but also take advantage of exciting sea kayaking
or whale watching on the Pacific Ocean only 10 miles
away.

- Loch Lomond Lake
Loch Lomond Lake is nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains
in the heart of Lompico and comprises an 87-acre lake
stocked with Trout, Bluegills and Largemouth Bass.
Fishing is always an option; just bring your pole.
The lake side store rents electric and row boats,
bait, tackle, fishing licenses, hot and cold drinks,
and snacks.
- Santa Cruz Wharf
The Santa Cruz Wharf is the longest public Wharf on
the west coast: a half mile long. It is the most recent
of five wharves since the first wharf in Santa Cruz
was built in 1850. It is now an open marine park that
is open to the public and is accessible for bicycles,
wheel chairs, pedestrians and automobiles. Boat and
kayak rental are available from vendors on the Wharf.
- Capitola
Wharf
The first Capitola wharf was built in 1856 as a commercial
pier for shipping lumber and farm products from Soquel
to San Francisco. Once rail service was established,
the commercial use of the wharf dropped off. The wharf
is still used for fishing, boat launch, and for renting
boats. Facilities include restrooms, a view deck,
a restaurant, and a bait and tackle shop.
- Santa
Cruz Harbor
The Santa Cruz Harbor has a full service marina that
houses about 1,200 boats and a launch ramp. The marina
also has a fuel pier, charter boats, fishing and whale
watching. Other activities include the Marine Sanctuary
Center, Wednesday Night Sailboat Races, Marina Interpretive
Walk, Thursday Night Beach Barbecues, Whale Watching,
Competitive Volleyball, Circle Trail, Free Water Taxi,
and the Santa Cruz Rowing Club.
